MISL: Dell QuickSet Exit Options

misl, re:design Add comments

When you exit the Dell QuickSet control panel from the “notification area” you’re presented with this dialog box:

QuickSet Before

Blech! Most people won’t read the language and click “Yes.” Which means that it’s going to launch with your system every time you log on to your machine. But I don’t want this panel to ever launch, which means I need to exit the program every time I log on.

Cut to the chase. “Yes” and “No” are not commands that have any significance to what the actual program is asking for.

Here’s what I think it should say:

QuickSet After

I like the better-interface series you’ve started! Forgive me for suggesting the Dell QuickSet dialog box could be even further improved(!), but I wonder if the text on the button should be changed from Close to OK — mainly because the sentence at the top already says, “You have closed…” (If I’ve already closed QuickSet, what am I closing by clicking the Close button?)

I thought about changing the first sentence to say “You are closing…” But that seemed a little too literal.

Well said. This will make it suck less for those of us that would like to increase the performance of our laptops by reducing overhead. Thanks!
